Brief Description:  Introduction

Although I have a love affair with the look and capability of high wing aircraft, I have decided to build an S-19 kit from the Rans aircraft Co. I look forward to biilding the S-7 kit as a second project. I have been impressed with the line up of aircraft that they offer. I have not completed my pilot training, or I would have purchased the S-7 kit. I would like to build some time in a tricycle gear before tackling a tail dragger.
the Rans s-19 is an all aluminum aircraft which presents a challenge to me as a first time builder.
I am not unfamiliar with aircraft, and was trained as a light aircraft mechanic on the O1A BIRDOG (L19), and the U6A Beaver. Both aircraft of which I have spent many hours in as a passenger, and during several occasions, had the opportunity of parachuting out of the U6A as a member of the U.S. Army Special Forces.
My training as a light aircraft mechanic was completed in 1964. Thats a long time ago, and anything I might have learned in that short period of time, has long since disappeared from memory.
I look forward to acquiring new skill sets that will allow me to accomplish this project.
The first objective was to find a suitable place, and to construct a good flat table that would meet the requirements that Rans had set forth. Their plans call for a 4' x 12'. table. So off we go.
